1. In-Screed UFH Systems

Best for new builds, extensions and ground floors

In-screed systems are the gold standard for new-build properties, barn conversions and major ground-floor renovations where a new concrete or liquid screed floor is being poured.

  • How it works: Flexible barrier pipework is fixed over high-performance insulation boards before a liquid sand and cement or anhydrite screed is poured over the top.
  • The benefits: The screed acts as a substantial thermal store, holding heat for long periods and distributing warmth exceptionally evenly across stone, porcelain or tiled finishes.

2. Low-Profile Overlay Systems

Best for renovations and retrofits

Overcoming floor-height restrictions during a home renovation used to be difficult. Our ultra-slim overlay systems allow you to add luxury underfloor heating to existing floors without digging up subfloors or significantly altering door thresholds.

  • How it works: High-density, pre-routed insulation or gypsum panels, often as thin as 15mm to 18mm, are laid directly over existing solid or timber floors. Heating pipes are then fitted into the pre-grooved channels.
  • The benefits: Minimal build-up height, fast installation times and a rapid warm-up response, making this system ideal for upper floors, existing room upgrades and timber subfloors.

3. In-Joist UFH Systems

Best for upper floors and suspended timber floors

Fitting underfloor heating into suspended timber floors or upper-floor bedrooms requires a specialised structural approach that keeps the pipework neatly hidden beneath the floorboards.

  • How it works: Aluminium heat-diffuser spreader plates or structural notch panels are installed directly between or over timber floor joists, holding the pipework securely and flush with the tops of the joists.
  • The benefits: Structural floor levels remain completely unaltered while efficient, silent heat transfer is delivered through engineered wood, carpet or vinyl floor finishes above.

  • Radiant, even warmth: Unlike conventional radiators that circulate hot air towards the ceiling and can leave cold spots near the floor, UFH radiates gentle, uniform heat upwards from ground level.
  • Maximum design freedom: Eliminate bulky radiators and free up valuable wall space, giving you greater flexibility when arranging furniture, kitchen cabinetry and interior features.
  • Lower running costs: Wet UFH operates at significantly lower water temperatures, typically between 35°C and 45°C, compared with traditional radiator circuits operating at approximately 60°C to 70°C. This can make the system up to 25% more efficient when paired with a modern condensing boiler or renewable heat pump.
  • Multi-zone temperature control: Each room or heating zone can have its own dedicated digital thermostat or smart app control, allowing you to heat only the rooms you are using.

  • Gas, LPG and oil boilers: Systems are fitted with mixing valves that automatically regulate boiler water to safe and comfortable UFH flow temperatures.
  • Air and ground source heat pumps: Heat pumps and wet underfloor heating are an ideal combination for low-carbon heating because heat pumps operate most efficiently at the lower water temperatures required by UFH systems.
