OFTEC, the Oil Firing Technical Association, represents the oil heating and cooking industry in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. Formed in 1991, OFTEC replaced the former Domestic Oil Burner Equipment Testing Association (DOBETA) and their original role was to write new technical standards and training manuals to focus the oil installation industry. These established common standards for oil firing heating, cooking appliances and oil storage tanks allow engineers to ensure that everything is installed correctly and safely.
Wheildon’s is registered with OFTEC to show that our team have the relevant skills, are competent and work to recognised standards and practices to give our customers confidence in our work. OFTEC also provides additional training to make sure that our installers are aware of new techniques and procedures within the industry of liquid fuels.
